Burt M. Hoffman, founder and principal member of the Law Firm, has over 40 years of real estate law and business law experience. He practices primarily in Transactional Law, providing counsel in sophisticated real estate transactions, residential conveyances, lender representation, business development and organization, limited liability company formation, corporate structuring and a wide array of corporate cooperatives.

Burt represents clients in land sales, acquisitions, loan re-financing, 1031 Tax deferred exchanges, commercial and residential real estate development, contract negotiation, short sale negotiations and financial workouts. He has been involved with various other substantial real estate transactions, including but limited to, land leases, office and retail lease agreements and complex financing.

Burt also expresses his entrepreneurial spirit while representing individuals and groups with regard to business formation and corporate structuring. He most enjoys working with smart minded people with good ideas and natural business sense. He has been instrumental in the negotiation, legal planning and organization of various business entities, both regionally and nationally.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, Burt received his undergraduate degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law. He began practicing in Connecticut in 1970 with the Law Offices of Weissman, Weissman and Hoffman, with the emphasis on Real Property, Title Abstraction, Banking and Commercial Transaction. He is a member of numerous local, regional and national organizations and acts as counsel for various philanthropic foundations.

He and his wife, Judy, reside in Stamford, Connecticut.
